Trustee
You decide what your trustees are allowed to see and even whether they are allowed to edit your file in About Time on your behalf. Already during your lifetime, if you are unexpectedly no longer legally competent or only after you have passed away? You decide who your confidants are and what rights they get.
Do you have questions about the trustees?
Yes of course. Ask your father, mother or someone else to invite you from their account as their trustee, with rights to make changes. From that moment on, you can adjust his profile on behalf of your relationship.
More about trustee rights: How does a trustee get access to my data after my death?
An account for About Time is personal and intended for personal use only. If you want to give your partner, or someone else, access to your data, you can invite him or her as a trustee.
More about trustees: What is a trustee allowed to do?
Nothing!
We believe it is important that trustees can fulfill their role as trustee without additional costs. Trustees have access to an About Time user's profile, based on the permissions set by the user.
A trustee does not have to become an About Time user themselves, but that is of course possible. Only if the trustee also uses About Time for himself will the trustee also need to have credit.
That's for you to decide!
Of course it is important that there is at least one person who has access to your data if you are no longer competent or deceased. At About Time we call such a person 'a trustee'.
In the app you indicate who you want to give access to as your trustee(s) and from what time. Perhaps during your life, when you are no longer mentally competent or from the moment you die.
You can also indicate what your trustee is allowed to do. Only view or perhaps also adjust data on your behalf.
You also indicate which trustee is allowed to register in About Time that you are no longer competent or have passed away.
When you die there is a lot to consider, so you use About Time.
But what should your loved ones/survivors do?

The answer to this question falls into a few parts:
- If you use About Time and close your account yourself, your data will be deleted as soon as you have definitively confirmed this;
- If you have a (trial) account and you let your credit expire, your account and all your data will be deleted after one month;
- If one of your trustees has registered in About Time that you have died, your data will still be available to your trustee(s) for 9 months;
- If you have registered for the newsletter, your name and email address will be retained until you indicate that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter;
- If you have registered in the Online Condolence Register (for example to open a register), your data will be stored there until you delete your account;
- About Time webshop: Did you buy something via the webshop? We must then keep the invoicing data for 7 years for a possible audit by the tax authorities.
Trustees can access the data in your account for up to 9 months after death. Your account will then be cleared and the data will be deleted.
Yes, you can leave someone else a message for later. You can also indicate who should bring this message on your behalf at that moment.
After your trustee(s) have registered in About Time that you have died, they can access your data for another 9 months.
One of the wishes on our roadmap is the possibility for surviving relatives to keep the user's account (yours) alive after those 9 months. This is not yet possible, but if there is (a lot of) demand for it, we will certainly make it possible.

Access to your information remains for the trustee(s) for 9 months after your death.

About Time is the app that allows you to arrange and record almost everything for death, funeral and inheritance. It helps you to think about everything that is possible and what needs to be arranged.
You then invite trustees who can access this data at different stages of your life: during life and well-being, in case of incapacity and after death.
This can only be read permissions, but also the possibility to modify this data. Make sure you have always added a confidant who can access your data after death. You can adjust these permissions in the app, under Trustees.
